Bio

Cynthia Pareja Dubin (Lima, Perú, 1986) is a multidisciplinary artist whose work delves into the intricate interplay of identity, memory, and the unfolding subconscious. Inspired by her diverse cultural background and personal experiences, Pareja Dubin creates visually rich compositions that invite viewers to contemplate the profound relationship between art, the human spirit, and the world we inhabit.

Pareja Dubin's career as an artist began with a BA in Graphic Design from the Universidad de Palermo in Argentina, where she was awarded 1st prize in editorial design in 2011.

Returning to Perú, she served as a professor, thesis judge, and marketing designer at the Peruvian Institute of Art and Design. During this period, her fine art practice also gained recognition, with her work being exhibited at the United Nations International Art Fair.

Cynthia moved to the United States in 2013, where she continued her studies at the Art Students League of New York, expanding her expertise in abstract painting with Larry Poons and wood printmaking with Michael Pelletieri.

In 2021, she was awarded the fully funded Liquitex "Just Imagine" residency, which culminated in an exhibition of her work at the Manufacturers’ Village in New Jersey.

Pareja Dubin has marked significant milestones with her solo exhibitions, including "Intangible Ecosystems" at the Hotel Sofitel in Philadelphia (2023), “Paisaje Interior” at Galeria West Art in Westfield (2024), and "Reappearing Treasures" at the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey (VACNJ) in Summit (2025). Her work has also been featured in numerous group exhibitions internationally, with a notable presence in New York City and New Jersey.

Cynthia is dedicated to the crucial role art can play in enacting positive change, and uses her work to support philanthropic efforts, donating to raise funds for various causes, including women's empowerment, medical research, and veterans' support. Her work was also selected by the global philanthropic organization Move92 to represent Perú, supporting their collaborations with organizations in 13 countries through microfinancing to empower women in developing nations.

With a growing international reputation, her work is held in private collections worldwide and has been exhibited in numerous galleries and museums. She has also been featured in publications including Juxtapoz, Elephant Magazine, The Racket Reading Series, and Artspiel.

Based in West Orange, New Jersey, Cynthia Pareja Dubin's dedication extends beyond artistic creation; she is also a passionate educator, currently sharing her knowledge and expertise by teaching "Introduction to Abstract Art" for adults at the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey (VACNJ) in Summit, South Avenue Arts in Garwood and “Acrylic Painting” at The Baird Center in South Orange.
